Why Rustic Roots Aesthetics Was Created
Science-based skincare in a space that actually feels like yours

There are plenty of places to get a facial.
There are also highly clinical settings where advanced treatments take center stage and the experience can feel more like a medical appointment than a moment for yourself.
When Lauren Singleton and Shawn Francisco created Rustic Roots Aesthetics, they wanted something different.
They believed you shouldn’t have to choose between a relaxing experience and thoughtful, results-focused care. They wanted both: calm surroundings where you can truly settle in, paired with careful treatment decisions rooted in education, experience, and a genuine understanding of the skin.
That idea has guided everything from the beginning. And only months after opening in Trinity, it’s also shaping the next chapter.
Built around the person in the chair
Lauren and Shawn came to aesthetics from related but different paths. Shawn is a registered nurse and healthcare administrator. Lauren worked in healthcare administration before earning her aesthetics license. Through those experiences, both kept noticing the same thing: when business decisions become too focused on numbers, the individual client can quietly get lost.
That didn’t sit right with them.
So when they began dreaming up Rustic Roots together, they were clear about the kind of experience they wanted to create. It meant taking the time to understand what someone actually wanted help with before recommending anything. It meant explaining why a particular service or product made sense. And it meant skipping the unnecessary extras - no pressure, no upselling just because another option is available.
Sometimes a client wants to talk the whole time.
Sometimes she’s spent the entire day working, caring for children, running errands, or looking after everyone else and simply needs an hour of quiet.
Lauren understands that personally. She’s a mom with young kids.
Both experiences are welcome here. That flexibility might seem small, but it reflects the larger heart of Rustic Roots: treatment should feel personal because the person receiving it is not interchangeable.
Serious about results without losing the softness
One of the ideas Lauren and Shawn kept returning to was the divide they saw in skincare.
On one end are the relaxing spa services—lovely, restorative, a much-needed break from a busy week.
On the other are the more advanced clinical environments where the focus is almost entirely on treatment, often in a setting that feels more like a doctor’s office than a place you can truly exhale.
They didn’t see a reason those two things had to stay separate.
Their goal wasn’t to land somewhere in the middle. It was to bring the strengths of both together.
At Rustic Roots, the surroundings can still feel calm and restorative while the reasoning behind every treatment remains intentional. Before recommending a course of care, the focus is on your skin—your concerns, your goals, and the condition of your skin right now. A more aggressive or more expensive option is never automatically the right one simply because it’s available.
The questions that guide every recommendation are simple and honest:
- Why this treatment?
- Why this product?
- What are we actually trying to accomplish?
- Is this the right approach for this person’s skin at this moment?
That’s what regenerative skincare means to Lauren: looking beyond simply performing a service and instead choosing treatments with real intention—supporting healthier-looking skin and addressing the concerns that brought you through the door. Those concerns can range widely, from signs of aging and uneven pigmentation to acne, texture, or skin laxity. The right approach can vary just as much.
Rustic Roots offers customized facials, microneedling, chemical peels, plasma skin regeneration, weight loss support, and more. But the philosophy behind this med spa isn’t built around pushing any single treatment. It’s built around choosing what makes sense for the person sitting in the chair.
Growing roots in Trinity
Rustic Roots Aesthetics opened in February, and the response from the Trinity community has been encouraging. They’ve shown up at local events, built relationships with other businesses, and watched clients return - and refer friends and family.
That early support reinforced their desire to stay right here.
It also made one practical issue harder and harder to ignore.
The original salon-suite location presented real challenges for clients. Parking could be difficult. Finding the suite inside the larger facility wasn’t always intuitive. Exterior signage identified the suites rather than Rustic Roots itself. Some clients shared that getting to the appointment felt more frustrating than it should have been.
For a business built around the client experience, that mattered. So Lauren and Shawn began looking for another space nearby.
A new space designed around the same philosophy
On September 1, Rustic Roots began seeing clients in its new Trinity location.
The move wasn’t about dramatically changing the business or suddenly becoming something larger. It was about making the experience better.
The new executive-office setting offers easier parking, improved street visibility, direct Rustic Roots signage, and a quieter atmosphere than the previous salon-suite environment. That quieter setting is especially important. They want someone walking through the door to feel like she can settle in, not like she’s surrounded by the constant activity of a busy salon.
The hours have stayed the same. Lauren and Shawn continue to handle the client load themselves for now.
That may change eventually. They’re hopeful that continued word of mouth, community involvement, and referrals will allow them to bring on at least a part-time team member within the next year. Longer term, they can picture a dedicated storefront with additional treatment rooms and providers.
But there’s no rush to become something they’re not ready to be.
Right now, the focus remains on the new space, their clients, and continuing to build the kind of aesthetics practice they set out to create in the first place; one that takes both the science and the experience seriously.
One that takes each client’s goals seriously. And one where feeling comfortable is never treated as an afterthought.
